Chapter 23

In this chapter Pip visits commercial world of the royal exchange before he visits Matthew to be tutored and have something to eat. The Pocket’s house is an energetic and chaotic place where the servants to charge. Matthew is a careless, kind person.  The nurse is raising the children. Pip’s fellow students are odd, a young man named Startop is soft and delicate. Pip has dinner at Matthew’s and he tries to focus on his table manners that Herbert taught him.

Chapter 24

In this chapter Pip goes to Jagger’s office to see if he can share rooms with Herbert. Mr Wemick invites Pip to have dinner, Pip sees Jagger’s in the courtroom where he is frightening the judge with his speeches.

Chapter 25

Pip goes to Wemmick’s to eat. Wemmick talks about how he’s built a small castle in Walworth and asks Pip if he wants to meet the aged which is his father. Pip and Wemmick meets the aged and nods at him continuously as he likes to be nodded at. While their with the aged they have a good time in the castle.

Opening paragraphs – The beginning of an essay.

Promoting unhealthy food –  When fast foods like McDonald’s are being shown on TV. They make the food so cheap that they attract more people.

Exploiting workers – Unfairly using workers without paying them.

Robbing the poor – Vast areas of land in poor countries are used for cash cops.

Damaging the environment – Things like pollution and global warming is damaging the environment. People are being affected by the all the pollution in the air and are needing asthma pumps.

Cruelty to animals – Animals are being killed for medicine and furniture which isn’t good. It helps us but animals are going to be extinct soon.

Chapter 20

In chapter 20 Pip moves out and goes to London. When Pip gets to London he thinks it is nasty, labyrinthine, and abrasive place. Pip  goes to Mr. Jagger’s, when he gets there Pip is greeted by a clerk who lets him know that Mr. Jagger’s isn’t there but he can wait inside. When Pip gets there he finds out that Mr Jagger’s office is a weird place.

Chapter 21

In chapter 21 Mr Wemick takes Pip to Barnard’s inn. Whilst he is there Pip thinks about what his apartment will look like. Pip arrives at his apartment, shakes Mr Wemick’s hand and goes to his room. Mr. Pocket Junior arrives, and gives Pip some strawberries, Pip is shocked about Pocket juniors being kind to him.  Pocket Junior doesn’t have that much money, he said that he was going to give Pip a tour of London in the morning. Then they both notice that they had a fight with each other at Miss Harvisham’s

Chapter 22

Pip asks Herbert if he can help him to be a gentleman. After they both agree to live with each other. As Herbert is teaching Pip how to be a gentleman he corrects him with his bad table manners and gives him the nickname of Handel and tells him about Miss Harvisham’s life. Her childhood, what happened with her marriage and how her brother set her up by taking some of the money that her dad gave her. Miss Harvisham’s received a note at 20 minutes to nine from her fiancée. All her clocks stopped at that time. Miss Harvisham’s adopted Estella so that she could lead men on and then break their hearts.

Chapter 17

In chapter 17 Pip talks to Biddy. Biddy is similar to Pip, they both have common lives. He talks about how he wished he liked Biddy and how he loves Estella. Also in chapter 17 Orlick likes Biddy.

Chapter 18

4 years later Pip and Joe are in a bar. A stranger approaches them and tells Pip he can give him a future and educate him, but he has to be taken to London . He asks Joe if he can give Pip a future and Joe says he’s no going to stop Pip from doing something he wants. The man repeatedly asks Joe if he wants money for Pip and he gets angry because he doesn’t want money.

In this chapter Pip says what he thinks about Miss Harvisham and Estella

Chapter 15

Pip wants to go back to Miss Harvisham’s so he can see Estella as he thinks she is pretty and he likes her. When he gets to Miss Harvisham’s, miss Harvisham tells Pip that Estella is gone. Pip feels sad because he really liked Estella. When he comes back he goes to the bar with Joe and Mr. Wopsle. When they get back they find Pip’s sister on the floor, injured.

Chapter 16

In chapter 16 Miss Gargery is injured and she is unable to speak, the police are trying to find out who hurt her.

For my project in English I have chosen a film called coach cater the reason for this is because in my opinion the movie is about determination. In the movie coach cater,there are a group of boys who know each other well and all play for the same basketball team. Later on during their season the coach who is called cater notices something that he doesn’t like, their grades and attitude. Coach cater bands them from the basketball team because of their grades and attitude and reopens it until they change their behaviour and grades. Parents and fans disagree on what he is doing and try’s to make his life horrible but he stands strong and makes shore his players achieve well until he opens    the team again. Once the team achieves well he then reopens the team and later on just losing to the team at the top of the league. Later on in life the boys achieve well and have great lives.

Ambition was linked to the film by Coach Carters students getting their qualifications and to also proceed in basketball

Chapter 10

Pip goes to the pub after school to make his way home with Joe. Joe is with Jolly Bargeman and Pip spots a strange man. The man positions himself so no-one else but Pip can see him. The stirs his drink with a file to show Pip he knows what he did with the convict. When Pip and Joe are about to leave the strange man gives Pip two shillings but wraps it in more money that they find  when they get home.

Chapter 11

In this chapter Pip goes Miss. Havisham’s to find 3 people  Camilla , Sarah Pocket and Mr.Pocket.  Miss Harvisham makes Pip walk through a dark passage which is covered with cob webs. They walk around the room with some guests. After Estella leaves Pip alone to eat and he sees a boy that wants to fight him. Pip fights the boy and he wins. Pip kisses Estella on the cheek because she tells him to and she tries to make him cry.

Chapter 12

Pip goes to Miss Harvisham’s, while Pip is at Miss Harvisham’s she tells him to bring Joe the next time he comes to her house. Miss Gargery isn’t happy. Pip goes to Miss Harvisham’s with Joe and Joe is nervous. Joe only talks to Pip while he is at Miss Harvisham’s.

Chapter 13

When Joe and Pip is leaving Miss Havisham’s she tells Pip not to return and that Joe is his master and gives them £25 pounds. When they get home Joe tells Mr Pumblechook and Miss. Gargery they are very excited about the money they recieved.

Chapter 8

Pip meets Miss Harvisham for the first time and she is wearing an old wedding dress. Whilst Pip Is in the house Pip sees Estella and he tells Miss Harvisham that he thinks she’s pretty and rude. Miss Harvisham asks pip to entertain her so he pretends to be a horse but he thinks its a bit weird, so he with Miss Harvisham. Estella and Pip go downstairs to eat. Estella is rude to Pip and makes him feel sad. When Estella leaves the room Pip starts to cry.

Chapter 9

Pip is on his way back home and he tells  Mrs.Joe and Mr. Pumblechook what happened while he was at Miss Harvishams house. pip lies to them because he feels that they wont believe him if he tells the truth. He tells them she’s a tall dark haired old woman who sits in a dark velvet coach. When Pip gets home he tells Joe the truth about what really happened at Miss Harvishams.

In the piece of writing that chakraborthy wrote it had a lot of language features. One language feature  was that he used  “your”. By using your chakraborthy involved the reader so that he could engage you into his piece of writing. Chakraborthy wanted to show us why he thought the Shard was a bad feature for London.

In a sunny morning me and a group of friends are at the Mexican boarder in a black and red caravan. In the caravan there is a bag of bombs. Me and my friends luckily get pass the boarder without being noticed. As we arrive to our destination in Mexico we see a group of gangsters who approach us and demands the caravan, not knowing there are a bag of bombs inside. Around us it smells like weed which was coming from the gangsters. As they are demanding the caravan we feel worried. The bombs were the main priority to us, so I came to a agreement with them. I said you can have the caravan as long as I get to take the bag and they agreed.

As they drove away with the caravan we entered the house where we were staying. The man I.B.B.Z who built the house did a great job and we were grateful for it. As we sat around the table we brought the bombs out to check if they were all there, we noticed that it said E.L.T on them which was quiet strange to us. 10 minutes later there was a loud knock on the door. I said who is it and she replied Conswela.

As I opened the door a women who had medium length black hair, late 40s, average height women and a chubby face said hello, i’m your house cleaner, with a spanish accent. I quickly shut the door in her face and rushed back to the front room to tell my friends to hide the bombs.
