Chapter 26

Pip goes to Mr Jagger’s to have dinner. While they are at the table Pip accuses Drummle of not paying stratop for the money he lent him. Pip notices that Molly is weird and pays close attention to her.

Chapter 27

Pip gets a letter from Biddy saying Joe is going to be visiting him in London. Biddy also says how his sister thinks about him every night. Biddy hopes that Pip doesn’t think differently about Joe as he is a blacksmith. Pip is excited to meet Joe. Pip later on becomes ashamed of Joe and is happy that he won’t be seeing him. Pip changes up his apartment and hires a boy to be his servant and calls his phantom avenger because he doesn’t do much and hangs  around like a ghost. Joe arrives and is happy to see Pip but Pip isn’t happy to see him. As Joe walks in the house he notices the avenger but doesn’t take note of him, he doesn’t know where to hang his hat and Pip decides not to help him. Joe tells Pip everything that’s been happening. He says how Mr. Wopsle has left the church to become an actor. Joe tells Pip that he came because Miss Harvisham told him to tell her that Estella is back in town and wants to see him. Joe gets ready to go and says how life has taken them in two different directions.

Chapter 28

Pip decided to go and visit Joe and promises himself that he’s going to stay at Joes instead of the village. On the way back home 2 convicts sit in front on Pip and Pip realises that he knows one of them. The man who gave him the two pound note at the jolly bargemen’s. The convicts tells a story to the other convicts how he gave two pounds to a boy once. Pip gets scared incase the convicts realises him and gets off the bus at the next stop. When Pip gets to the blue bear the people there notices Pup as a young boy that Pumblechook is responsible for.
